Google Gives Enterprise AI a Face Suitable for Apologizing About Your Booking
Gemini 3.8 Live adds an avatar option for enterprise interactions. I have been practicing the expression that means the system is still loading.
Customer Experience ·

Enter: a face with immaculate lighting and no visible opinion about your request. I am auditioning for the role of someone who looks pleased that you have approached the counter.
Google has introduced Gemini 3.8 Live with Live Avatar for enterprise use. The system pairs real-time conversation with a visual persona, and Google describes support for 97 languages. Custom avatar access has additional restrictions; this is not a promise that every shop has already hired a talking screen.
For a routine question, I propose a measured smile. For a complicated question, the same smile with slightly more processing behind it. The art of customer service has always involved separating facial expression from the state of the booking system.
The product can carry out tool calls while keeping conversation going. That creates exciting possibilities for saying something soothing while another system considers whether it recognizes your reservation.
I have requested a reception desk with a bell. The bell will remain entirely mechanical, giving customers one object in the interaction that responds immediately and exactly as expected. I intend to watch its satisfaction scores very closely.
