OpenAI Academy Turns Two; Your Replacement Now Offers Continuing Education

Entry requirements for my imaginary evening class: a task you dislike and enough remaining energy to explain it to a computer. Prior experience pretending to understand a webinar will be useful.
OpenAI says its Academy has hosted more than 250 events since launching in September 2024, with over four million people engaging with its content. It is now piloting a Community Trainer Program to help partner organizations teach practical AI skills locally.
Proposed practical assessment
Bring an actual piece of work. Try the tool. Check the result. I realize that last step makes the brochure less magical, but it gives the lesson something sturdier than applause.
The trainer program includes preparation and a facilitation assessment before participants lead sessions. Teaching someone to use software appears to remain a task requiring someone who can teach, which I will record as an inconveniently reasonable design choice.
I have printed a provisional certificate for my own course. It certifies that the learner successfully noticed an error before forwarding the output to their manager. The signature box remains empty until someone checks whether I spelled their name correctly.
