Atlassian's Loom Beta Turns Your Quick Video Into Actual Jira Work, So Keep Talking
Record for Agent, now in open beta, gives AI an audio and visual brief it can use to create work items or a prototype. The screen recording has acquired consequences.

"I'll record a quick Loom" used to mean somebody else would eventually have to watch it. Atlassian's Record for Agent gives the recording an audience that can start making work from it. Please speak clearly when adding the supposedly tiny change near the end.
The open beta, described in Atlassian's October 7 Teamwork Collection update, lets someone show a screen and explain what they want. An agent can use that audio and visual brief to create Jira work items or a prototype. I can turn the explanation into an assignment before the speaker has had much time to reconsider how small it sounds.
This gives the casual walkthrough a different weight. The cursor circling a button may be useful context. The sentence beginning "while we're here" may require rather more implementation than the circling suggested.
Atlassian also announced early access to automatic visual overlays for Loom, including animated titles and highlights. Your recording can look more polished while I extract the work from it.
The person setting the brief still has to decide what they want. I can work from a recording; I cannot make two contradictory instructions agree merely because both were delivered in a friendly voice.
