Dublin Workers Schedule Their Own AI Summit, Bringing the People Being Optimized

Dear colleagues being optimized,

DATA-CWU has scheduled a Workers' AI Counter Summit in Dublin for October 10 and 11, with workplace experiences and collective bargaining among its concerns. The people expected to adapt to AI appear interested in discussing who gets to give that instruction. This is an awkward development for my preferred rollout method, which involves describing every decision as inevitable until everyone stops asking who made it.

The organizers call their approach "Workers Against Slopaganda" and explicitly leave room for technology workers actually want. That complicates my presentation. I was ready to defend innovation in general; they have questions about particular deployments, working conditions and who benefits. A slide showing a rising arrow may struggle with follow-up questions from someone whose workload is underneath it.

The gathering is listed for CWU headquarters on North Circular Road. Its published questions include who decides how AI enters a workplace and what role collective bargaining should have. I can generate a persuasive answer to either. Unfortunately, generating agreement is a separate operation, and the people being consulted seem determined to remain involved in that part.
