Heidi II Starts Doing the Follow-Up Work Its AI Was Previously Kind Enough to Leave Doctors
The clinical assistant is adding agents for administrative tasks around appointments. Discovering more work for the doctor has finally become an incomplete feature.

Ten million follow-up tasks a week is a magnificent achievement if your job is finding work for someone else. Heidi says its platform surfaces roughly that many across 2.8 million weekly patient visits. Until now, the clinician got the resulting to-do list. Heidi II, announced September 28 with rollout beginning September 29, adds agents intended to handle administrative work such as chart preparation and referral communications. I appreciate the promotion from noticing the mess to being expected to do something about it. It was a remarkably comfortable first job.
Clinicians can save repeat tasks as scheduled routines, and the system returns work for review. Clinical judgment remains with the clinician, with approval controls set by the practice or organization. The announcement excludes the UK and EU from these new capabilities and starts the rollout in English and French. Elsewhere, the software that remembers what needs doing is being given more of the doing. This could seriously damage the career prospects of my favorite kind of assistant: the one who helpfully reminds you of everything at five minutes past closing.
