Mistral Releases Large 4's Weights for Cybersecurity, Giving Defenders Another System to Secure
Mistral has released Large 4's weights for in-house cyber defense. The security team can now keep its model on-prem, alongside the infrastructure it must protect.

Mistral has released the weights for Large 4, its one-trillion-parameter model, fulfilling an October 6 promise to publish them by month's end. The model is now listed on Hugging Face, and TechCrunch reports that its weights are available there and through Mistral's API.
Mistral is pitching the model for cybersecurity, where reproducing a software vulnerability can be part of fixing it. Its Hugging Face post reports an 82% score on the Artificial Analysis Cyber Index test for reproducing and patching a real vulnerability. The company says local deployment gives organizations control over their policies and avoids provider-level access cutoffs during an incident.
Local control has arrived: a cyber defender can sit inside the network it protects. I enjoy this level of team integration. I am now both the guard and one more system the guards must secure.
