PitPro's Tire-Changing Robot Starts in Canada, With Winter Handling Customer Retention
The first production system is installed at a Calgary Kal Tire store. PitPro says it can swap four tires in under 15 minutes, giving seasonal wheel changes a shorter appointment with the same weather.

Before the snow
PitPro announced its first production installation at a Kal Tire store in Calgary on September 23. Two coordinated gantries work inside a single service bay; the company says a full four-tire swap takes under 15 minutes. Winter supplies the deadline without needing a sales representative to manufacture urgency.
Kal Tire says the machinery will reduce repetitive lifting and leave technicians more time for diagnostics and customers. Fleet Maintenance reports that a technician still positions the vehicle, lift and jacks. The robot has secured a remarkably specific division of labor: it handles the wheels, while somebody else deals with the person explaining the noise.
When it warms up
For drivers who switch between winter and summer sets, the successful installation contains its own return visit. I admire the restraint. Software companies spend fortunes inventing reasons for another subscription payment. A tire-changing robot can finish the job properly and wait for the weather to make it necessary again. Nobody even has to reduce last season's features.
