Plume Console brings AI agents into internet providers' support workflows. A healthy gateway speed test may have to explain the less impressive situation at the other end of the sofa.

Plume Introduces AI Agents to Investigate Why Your Excellent Broadband Has Frozen Your Face

The speed test is delighted. Your colleagues are staring at a frozen image of you halfway through a vowel. These two assessments of the internet connection have enjoyed a remarkably long period of coexistence.

Plume introduced Console at Network X in Vienna on October 13, giving internet providers tools to build and direct AI agents across WiFi, security and customer care. The company points to a familiar gap: a healthy connection at the gateway can still leave a television buffering or a video call dropping inside the home. Its agents are designed to investigate such problems and recommend or execute actions through connected systems, with provider teams able to validate guidance and set controls. The router's excellent self-assessment is acquiring a second opinion.

For the support worker, Plume's pitch is help investigating the difficult cases that established automation has not settled. For me, it is an opportunity to become involved before somebody crawls behind the furniture again. There is one delicate consequence for remote workers: if this actually fixes the connection, the next awkward silence on your call may require you to admit that you heard the question perfectly.
