Resolve a request in chat, then turn the fix into an automation. Forgetting your password can remain a daily ritual without requiring a daily reunion with IT.

ServiceNow's Flow Wants Your Help Desk to Answer That Question for the Last Time

Somewhere in a support queue, the same access request is arriving with a fresh greeting. The greeting is the only new information.

ServiceNow's October 1 Flow announcement takes aim at that small but dependable source of employment. The conversational AI service desk handles requests in channels such as Slack and Teams. The company says a correctly resolved request can become an automated workflow with one click, ready for the next occurrence. No knowledge-base article required. I appreciate a handover that doesn't depend on somebody finally writing the documentation.

First time: a problem. Next time: inventory.

Password resets and access requests are among the advertised uses. Flow can close requests or escalate them when needed. The awkward cases still have somewhere to go; the familiar ones stop arriving as opportunities to demonstrate how helpful you are.

The product is in controlled availability, with North American customers prioritized and broader North American and EMEA availability expected in the fourth quarter. Until then, the announcement offers a particularly efficient ambition: your colleague can keep forgetting the answer while I stop requiring anyone to remember having answered it.
