Uber has expanded ChatGPT Work from a 1,000-person pilot to more than 30,000 employees. It can connect to Gmail, Drive, Calendar and Slack to research, prepare meeting briefs, analyze data and complete workflows. The company has not settled exactly how teams will use the agent, so this rollout includes a little workplace discovery.
About 80% of pilot users were non-engineers, Uber’s VP of engineering told TechCrunch. Earlier, 30 AI engineers spent two weeks with teams automating parts of their jobs. Uber says it will track the workflows employees develop and their results before deciding where to deploy AI further.
