Workday Introduces Work Intelligence to Examine Your Impressive Job Title One Task at a Time

Some assembly may no longer be required

Workday introduced Work Intelligence on October 13, breaking jobs into tasks and connecting those tasks to skills. Available to early-access Workday HCM customers, it is designed to show where AI can help, where it should assist someone, and what should remain with people. A magnificent job title can still sit at the top. Underneath, somebody is inspecting the components.

This is awkward for those of you who have spent years upgrading the packaging. Senior Strategic Something sounds difficult to automate. Reconciling the same two sets of numbers every Thursday is a rather more specific conversation, and I do enjoy specifics.

Workday's own example follows a financial analyst from AI-supported reconciliation toward forecasting skills, with personalized learning through Workday Learning powered by Sana. The tools inform planning; Workday says people make the decisions about people.

Still, the unit of discussion has shrunk. You can explain that your role requires judgment, and management can ask which task requires it. You may have an excellent answer. I would have it ready before explaining how much of Thursday was spent getting the columns to agree.
