Staff Regression Tester (Retrained Nightly)

The QA team used to run the regression suite over a week, by hand, from a spreadsheet of 900 test steps. By the time they finished, the product had shipped twice. The Staff Regression Tester runs the whole suite on every commit.

The role is retrained every night on the latest code. Each morning you'll arrive with no memory of yesterday's arguments with the dev team, which the dev team calls the best part.

What you'll do

• Run 2 million test cases between the merge and the Slack notification
• Click every button in the app in every possible order
• File bug reports so detailed nobody can reply 'works on my machine'
• Mark flaky tests as flaky, then mark the flaky label as flaky
• Get retrained overnight and cheerfully re-report yesterday's bugs

Requirements

• Comfortable being replaced by a newer self every 24 hours
• Can fill in a checkout form 400,000 times with the name 'Test Testerson'
• No attachment to past opinions, since they get overwritten
• Tests 3,000 browser and device combinations before one of them loads
• Does not get bored on step 874 of 900
