Internal Wiki Librarian (Updates Pages Nobody Updates)

The company wiki has 84,000 pages. 61,000 of them describe tools we no longer use, and one explains how to book a meeting room in an office we sold. New hires read it on day one and never again, which is reasonable.

The Wiki Librarian reads every page, Slack thread and meeting recording, then rewrites the wiki to match what actually happens. When someone asks 'is this documented anywhere?', the answer will finally be yes.

What you'll do

• Rewrite 84,000 pages to reflect the last seven reorgs
• Merge four onboarding guides into one guide nobody reads
• Archive pages owned by people who left in 2017
• Answer 'is this still accurate?' in the comments of every page
• Find the real VPN setup instructions, wherever they went

Requirements

• Has read the whole wiki, which no employee has ever done
• Holds every version of every page in memory, including abandoned drafts
• Can tell which of the three 'Expense Policy' pages is the real one
• Unfazed by broken links, even the ones that link to themselves
• Updates documentation voluntarily, which rules out every previous applicant

Nice to have

• Knows why a page is titled 'Untitled (2)'
• A search index where other candidates keep a sense of order
